Rory Jordan Evan Roberts, professionally known as Chinno Cartel, was born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, where he first discovered his resilience and passion for music. After a life-altering basketball injury in high school left him unable to play, Chinno found a new purpose—music. What started as rhyming for fun quickly turned into a serious craft, thanks to the encouragement of his longtime friend Shaborn (Sha). The two began recording music together, performing in their apartment complex, and soon gained recognition for their raw talent.
Chinno’s breakthrough came when he recorded his first remix, Slim Jesus’ “Kill Time”, alongside his childhood friends. The buzz from that track, combined with the viral success of “JetBluee”, catapulted him into the independent music scene. Fueled by the energy of hip-hop, Chinno moved to New York City—performing across Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx, as well as taking his music beyond state lines. His debut project, “The Land of Chinno”, amassed over 100K streams on Spotify, with his hit “Proceed” further solidifying his growing fanbase.
Building on that momentum, Chinno released his second project, “Can’t Conceal Greatness”, on July 4th, marking another major milestone in his career. With each release, he continues to refine his sound and expand his reach.
From this journey, Chinno Wave Productions was born—an all-in-one creative powerhouse specializing in beat production, mixing, recording, songwriting, and commercial jingles. More than just a brand, Chinno Wave is a movement—bridging raw storytelling with high-quality sound.
